i think the author if treasure island used so much imagery because pirates were in a far back time and it would be hard to understand what was going on without a constant picture of whats going on in your head. one way imagery of the people/pirates is brought out is through lots of jargon. the dialect in which the characters speak really gives you an image of what they would look just from what they are saying.
besides to understand how people/pirates looked back in the "pirate days," i think imagery was used as well to bring out the setting and area around the people. the discriptions of everything also created a very in depth picture inside my head and really helped me get through the weird words becasue i had a picture of where they were and where they were going.

I like your reasons why the author chose imagery. I feel the same way about it creating images in your head; the imagery helped me a lot.
ReplyDeleteI deffinitley agree with you that the imagery does paint a good picture in your head, but it was a toss up between motif and imagery between me but I had more stuff for imagery. NICE WORK!
ReplyDeletei meant motif sorry
ReplyDeletehmm, i thought you were doing motif..
ReplyDeletegood argument though.
